It is the start of a new year. The Year 2012. With the new year comes a new toy for me which hopefully will last till 2013. I am a gadget freak after all. The people at Olympus were kind enough to give me this new toy to review and it has been with me ever since.
This is by far the best digital camera I have gotten my hands on so far. It is very much for the normal to a professional user friendly camera. I have been using the Mark II now for the past year and I kind of find it a little bulky when it comes to carrying it around. It does make a few heads turn actually when you are using it. This camera though is much user friendly and you are able to take candid shots with it. People wont suddenly be wondering why are you taking their photographs.
I do take a lot of pictures of people and the various scenes in Malaysia and overseas. For this post though I would be showing you pictures that I took during my normal daily life when I am on a break with my family. I have noticed that it is very difficult to take pictures of my daughter Abigail who is 1 1/2 now. She moves a lot and even though I use a high ISO to try to take her picture I would need to still focus and that is when it takes time. With the E-PL3 though it is kinda breeze due to the fast auto focus time.
This was a picture taken at Tien Hou Temple during my cousin’s wedding or is it registration ? I get confused with the actual wedding ceremony. Which is which ? Does the registration happens first but you are still not considered married till the wedding ceremony ? Well anyway.
As you can see it was a hot day. Adjusting the lighting was quite easy. Just use the dial and set the lighting temperature to something suitable. The effect is instantaneous.
Abby did kinda look a little sad on this day. But never the less I was kinda happy as it is kind of difficult to get shots like this. I am still hoping that she will be a baby model. She is kinda cute in so many ways ( due to my genes of course ) .
This is a close up shot of Abigail Aaron Abraham taken using no ART filters with the E-PL3. The camera does have multiple ART filters that allows you to do a lot of changes straight away on the camera itself.
Since I was at Tien Hou Temple I also took some other pictures which will be shown below. The one above is a macro picture of the National flower. Being a little patriotic here.
Since Christmas was near the time I was doing this post I added a few photographs which i took during Christmas which I feel might entertain you a little but and show you how well the E-PL3 has been doing for me.
This is a photo of Abby in her Christmas outfit. This was the eve of Christmas. The night when we start opening presents and things like that. Sadly I did not get any. But I think this camera is good enough for me.
Picture of Abby with her Christmas present from her Great Uncle ( Tan Kian Lock ). He and his family will be migrating to New Zealand in January. We will surely miss them.
This is a picture of Abby’s corner. This photograph was taken using an ART filter. It was the filter that makes things looks like a toy from far.. It is nice and very sharp at the same time.
It is Christmas after all and this is a Christmas pudding for you to see how my Christmas went.
This was the last Christmas present that Abby received. It is from my sister. She kinda likes it a lot and pushes it around the house the entire day.
