If your blog has an abandoned look, it’s not going to work in your favor; you have to find ways to consistently update it so it stays fresh. You have to take an active part in updating your blog on a regular basis, and another good source of content is contributions from your readers. The purpose of this article is to help you do whatever is needed to keep your blog fresh and give you an edge over the competition. It is amazing at how easily things could be improved when you put your heart and soul into it.
Feedback: People will feel like they can respond if you ask for their opinion. After all, you’re writing your blog for the readers, which means your content should be convincing to them in every way. So who could give you better ideas than your readers? Ask your readers to submit topics that they’re interested in and want to be covered on the blog. For instance you can create a write for us page which lands your readers into a sign in page that allows them to send their articles to you for you to evaluate. Note that sometimes this is also not such a good idea as most articles sent to you have been recently spinned from another article or in fact is just plainly an article that has been submitted to 10,000 blogs already. Notice that this will impact your blog tremendously.
Interactive questions on your articles will give your readers an opportunity to answer in your comment section. A poll is such a great way to gauge the interests of your readers so they can feel invested in your blog. This idea will help you be able to live up to your readers’ expectations and maintain a constant flow of new ideas for your blog.
Run Contests: Keeping your blog fresh and interactive is definitely a challenge, but not for someone who is ready to try out various creative ways to enhance their blog. For example, you can hold regular contests on your blog, which could be for anything -best guest post, best photo submission, interesting topic suggestion, etc. The winner doesn’t have to expect a huge payoff for the contest to be popular; just give away something that offers some genuine value. A good part of keeping your blog fresh is getting your visitors to take part in activities, and a contest can be an effective way to do this.
Breaks Are Okay: You need to be productive in your blog writing, but you are also allowed to not post something when your heart just isn’t in it. Most of the blogging platforms out there have a system where you can schedule posts, why not take advantage of this feature? There are times when the juices will just be flowing, so try to get your blog posts created but the save a few for the future when you might be in a dry period. You can then schedule these posts for the days you want to publish them or just let them remain “unpublished” as a backup for those days when you don’t feel like writing. It’s a good idea to create your posts one week in advance, so that you’re ahead of your schedule and can have some peace of mind. You’ll see that your productivity doubles up when you don’t have the pressure of time on you.
Your success will depend on keeping your readers happy with new and fresh content regardless of whether you have one blog or a network of blogs. But if you really do have a network of blog then there is actually a secret method that you could use.
Write some comments below and ask me about this method. Put in your email address into the comment and I will send you my own method of running a successful network of blogs.
