There’s a saying Japanese improves technology to a different level.  Softbank has now started offering what many see as an iPhone clone in the Dynapocket X02T. The phone runs on Windows Mobile 6.5 and has a slightly larger form factor that makes it a bit handier for using the phone as an alternative e-book reader.

With a menu layout that closely mirrors that of the iPhone. The 3G network-enabled Dynapocket also offers Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a 3.2 megapixel camera, a 1-gigahertz CPU and access to Windows Marketplace for Mobile. See recent video of film director Quentin Tarantino where he’s hamming it up during a rehearsal for one of the new Softbank commercial here that was shown at a promo event. He’s rather silly for this.

I was looking around at this site and I was amazed to find out about NanoBattery. They say that the first power management solution will be introduced to all portable electronics that combines dependability, extended life and safe disposal.

Consumers afford-ability, accessibility and security especially in emergency / life-or-death response situations. According engineering designs it is safe to disposal. Wow that’s great for mother earth. Then again, I don’t know much about this be but I believe thing will not last for a long hours. What do you think?

Global mobile phone sales this year are expected to suffer the worst collapse

Since the industry began in 1983. Apple, which entered the mobile phone market just two years, is struggling to keep up with overwhelming demand for its iPhone.

Mr. Modoff believes the iPhone and the BlackBerry, nicknamed the CrackBerry, will continue to win more market share from long-established players such as Nokia, Motorola and Sony Ericsson. He predicts the industry’s profits this year will grow in significant number. The iPhone is a major contributor to Apple’s overall profits, although the company refuses to disclose exactly how much money it makes from the device.

Tim Cook, Apple’s chief operating officer, this week highlighted the success of the phone when the company reported profit of $1.23bn (£747m) for the three months to the end of June.

“The demand has been staggering almost in every country that we’ve shipped in,” Mr. Cook said.

Here are some researches got to say,

Carolina Milanesi, research director at mobile phone research house Gartner, said: “The iPhone is hugely popular with customers, and it’s also massively profitable.

“They have completely disrupted the market in less than three years, it is really impressive.”

The startling rise of iPhone and BlackBerry devices is hammering all the established mobile phone makers.

Nokia, the world’s largest mobile phone maker, last week warned that it will fail to increase its market share this year due to rampant competition. On the same day Sony Ericsson, once regarded as the most technologically advanced mobile phone maker, slumped to its fourth consecutive quarterly loss. Both companies’ are desperately slashing jobs in order to free up cash to revamp their tired portfolios to compete with the iPhone in the so-called Smartphone sector and push into application stores.

Ms Milanesi says that even if rivals players make phones that are technically better than the iPhone, for example Nokia’s N97 and Palm’s Pre, they are starting very much on the back foot in terms of brand recognition and consumer appeal.

“You just can’t stand still in phones,” she says “People can’t even remember the names of phones which were popular just six months ago.

“Sony Ericsson was once cool like the iPhone, but it has got to act fast or it will get left behind,” she says. “Do you remember the catch-phrase Hello Moto?,” Ms Milanesi asks of a recent Motorola advertising campaign. “No, and nor does anyone else.”

Motorola has suffered the greatest fall from grace of all the established players. The company, whose RAZR model sold 110m units and was named the 12th greatest gadgets of the past 50 years by PC World, made a $509m loss in the first three months of the year. Motorola is planning to revive its reputation with a series of handsets based on Google’s Android operating system. The lure of the phone is also disrupting the mobile phone operator market, with the company that secured the rights to the phone outperforming its competitors in most markets.

In the UK, O2, which holds the exclusive rights to the phone until September, is the only mobile phone operator to increase its market share.

Rival T-Mobile is so desperate to stem the tide of its customers defecting to Orange that is snapping up SIM-free phones from mainland Europe to offer to customers threatening to leave.

Matt Hatton, analyst at Analysis Mason, said: “No other phone has the emotional pull of the iPhone; the BlackBerry almost has it, but only among corporate customers

“People may buy a Palm Pre with their brains, but they are buying the iPhone with their hearts.”

Cool Looks of Dell Adamo XPS

It is the thinnest laptop ever build. The latest Dell Adamo is definitely a strong contender, at 9.99 mm at some points. I would have tested it myself but I forgot my calipers.

The Adamo definately does the sleek, simplistic look well. About two inches bigger in both directions than a sheet of paper and only 3.2 lbs, you could almost forget you were carrying this thing around.  Although forgetting you have $1800 in your arms might not be the most desirable…
Dell replaced the usual manual cover latch with a heat-sensitive capacitor. Just swipe your finger across the front edge and the lock disengages. When you open the Adamo, the screen doesn’t so much fold up as the keyboard folds down. It rests in the crazy position you see below. And it’s not just for looks, kids. The open space under the unit allows for more effective airflow, meaning no more burning laps while you work. You can have it on 24 hrs and not notice any smell. The keyboard has full sized, metal keys, and the angle didn’t interfere with my typing at all. The touchpad on the other hand, is a little on the small size. This thing has multitouch support, but even my small hands found trouble getting multiple fingers on there. Eventhough  I didn’t like, was that when you adjust the angle of the screen, it moves the angle of the keyboard as well.

Now I’m sure the question you’re all wondering is how in the world does this thing sit on your lap? Its actually pretty comfortable, and you can type without fear of knocking it off your lap with each keystroke. However, it does only have two points of contact so its not as secure against people bumping into you as other laptops.

dsc00576-620x415

As for the device’s internals, nothing jumps out at the eye. The screen is 13.4?. Powered by a 1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with integrated graphics and 4 GB of DDR3 RAM. You get 128 GB of SSD, no word on whether that is upgradable yet. Wireless comes in two flavors, 802.11n and Bluetooth 2.1. The only ports on the laptop are 2 USB 2.0 jacks, audio, and a DisplayPort out. Ethernet, HDMI, and the like can connect through the use of an external dongle.

Another cool feature is the replaceable battery. But you’ll have to be replacing it every 2 and a half hours. Not very long for a laptop that is designed for maximum mobility, but at that size? Can’t beat it.

You can expect the Adamo sometime this holiday season. Windows 7 comes standard as well as the diamond-etched logo on the cover. If you’re into that sort of thing.

Well I am just trying out to blog using my Iphone and the free wordpress application that can be found at the apple app store.

It kind of seems difficult to type compared to the normal laptop keyboards but I belive this would be good for on the go.

Incredibly the genius of the apple keyboard is that it finds the correct alphabet to make a word even though if you wrongly type it.

Let’s see how the picture uploading does in my next post.

The OPHONE By LENOVO and China Mobile

Lenovo and China Mobile have finally come up with an android powered mobile phone. It is named the Ophone. Pictured above it looks very sleek and versatile. It runs on the China Mobile OMS ( Open Mobile System) which is its own modified version of Android operating system that is basically Android with added supports and applications for the TD-SCDMA – China’s home-grown 3G network.

China Mobile has been developing the OMS for quite some time. It is essential to have their own proprietary handset operating system in order to be dominance for the Chinese mobile phone market, so they could then gain better profit from it. The Ophone is certainly an advanced piece of equipment and I cant wait to get a hold of this gadget.

By the way Christmas is around the corner.
