In these times of economic trouble, it’s good to know tech firms are on our side. TomTom’s new satnavs will even scour the local area to find the cheapest petrol on offer, before directing you straight to the forecourt!

It’s part of the satnav firm’s new Live service, built into the TomTom Go 540, 740 and 940.

We’ve heard about their web-connected satnav skills before, serving up ultra-accurate predictive traffic and even Google search, but now we know they’ll actually save us money while we’re on the road.

Due for an official unveiling it the UK in just a few weeks time, the satnavs will be TomTom’s most advanced dashboard companions to date, using built-in mobile internet connections to grab up to the date information and stop us getting pinched at the pump.

What’s more, we’d heard there’d be a £10 monthly fee for the Live services, but have now heard fuel price updates will cost just £7.99 each year.

Website Templates

Recently I was looking into getting a website up quick and fast. So what I did was try to get my hands into it. Having not designing any websites with database and CMS for more than 6 years now it is kinda hard to keep up suddenly. And I needed this site to go up as quickly as possible.

So what I ended up doing was going to all these template sites and trying to see whether I could get my hands on any nice free template. Then I found out that free templates kinda sucks. So what I did was to go to the payable template sites and then what I found out is that they are kinda expensive especially if you want the exclusivity rights to the template.

I ended up buying 4 different templates from 3 different sites. The first one I bought cost me USD 29.90. None of the templates I bought was exclusive. The first one I bought turned out to be kind of a cheat as after I paid I noticed that the download did not start and it took me 2 weeks in complaints and a phone call to get the template in the end. Mind you I paid with Paypal and made a formal complaint as well.

Then while waiting to settle my first problem I could not wait to get the site up so I went into another site that had a nearly similar template of what I was searching for and paid USD 59.90 for 1 template. In the end I bought 2 more from them. One with so called CMS programming. The CMS part did not work though.

Then what happened today after 2 months of this entire incident I came across this website called Dream Template which offered website templates at a cost of a monthly membership of USD 59.95 . But what you actually get out of this membership is downloads of thousands of templates but this are darn good templates not those free stuff that you get. In fact one of the templates was so good that I ended up getting my membership from them just for the sake of future referencing.

You see my website has been up for the past month. Although it kinda looks bad but I am happy to find this website which so far I have downloaded 23 templates from the past 2 hours of membership that I am hoping to use for my future developments. There are some samples above.

I Feel Hungry Even Looking At These

You know once in a year in the Chinese Calendar there is a festival called the Rice Dumpling Festival. Something like that I think. I just know how to eat them and trust me they are delicious. Although some people take it overboard and eat too much of it.

For an example my wife told me that she used to love eating dumpling until there was a year she ate too much of it and she vomitted it out. That made her hate eating dumplings and she does not eat it till today. Me though I love eating them as much as eating the King Of Fruits ( DURIAN ) . But my wife doesnt like either.

image004.jpg

Makes it hard for me to eat any of these. The worst part is have you seen the rising price of these dumplings. It used to be the days where you are able to buy them for like RM 2- 5 but now they are even selling it at RM 40 per dumpling depending on the fillings. Unbelievably made for the rich.

image006.jpg

Already I am suffering with the sudden rise of the Fuel price made by the Malaysian Government. About 50% increase compared to the normal pricing and decision made overnight. There was such a jam to not only fuel up your tanks but also to go home.

The Future Is Now - Flying Man

Flying cars would just remain as dreams. Not even one that we’ve heard that has made a success. Forget about those flying cars, a personal jet-powered flying wing definitely sounds more promising here. As it’s been tested at 8,000 feet above the ground. Here we come Ironman.

Yves Rossy, in Switzerland, has made an official demonstration for his jet-powered personal flying wing. He asked a plane to lift him up to 8000 feet in the sky and drop him from there to let him sail by his jet-powered flying wing. Everything had gone smoothly, the wing worked, and he’d traveled in the air for about 5 minutes, flying horizontally over the mountains at a speed of up to 186MPH before parachuting gently to the ground.

The wing is about 8 feet across, powered by 4 Jet-Cat P200 jet turbine engines, which each can output 50 pounds of thrust that allows a flight time to last up to 10 minutes. The only control of the wing is a throttle, so Yves had to control the direction of the wing entirely by his body.

The engine enables the user to ascend, which is at a rate of about 1,000 feet per minute. But it might have problem to let you take off completely from the ground. In order to fly in the sky, you’d probably need a plane to lift you up to certain height, let go to let you sail in the air on your own. It’d probably involve some complexity, at least, you’ll need to be trained to know when to parachute to the ground. I guess the device is still in the prototype stage. There are still lots of rooms for improvement, such as making it easier to operate. And safety is the main issue to be taken into consideration before it can get materialized as a commercial product.

This is surely the gadget for the fitness concious people. The healthy diets and 1 hour jogging trip in itself wont work. But with this phone in hand you would know what is actually happening.

As far as I know Adidas is well known in producing sport wear or fitness products. What does Adidas have to do with mobile phone? Of course, these days, it wouldn’t be a surprise those specializing in fashion or sport wear products are venturing into cell phone business too. So, now Adidas and Samsung somehow have teamed up to produce cell phones. And their first product is known as miCoach (F110), which is a fitness-centered cell phone.

The miCoach is a quad-band slider phone that features a dedicated fitness button that furnishes you with the details of your heart beat, distance covered, and running time, when hooked up with a heart monitor or a step counter. You can view the running information by tapping the cellphone’s screen without needing to hook it up to a PC. It’s loaded with over 220 fitness programmes which you can choose from. And the cellphone will feedback to you with your heart beat rate whether you’re going too fast or too slow according to the chosen programme.

I know my tummy is getting bigger as spending too much time sitting in front of the computer and drinking my favourite Foster beer. But I’ll always give myself excuses such as having no time to go for sit-up exercise to keep my tummy in good shape. Here comes the USB exercise dog, a cute gadget that could be a good reminder to tell me it’s time to tone up my tummy. The USB exercise dog is purely a toy to keep you amused. Once plugged into your computer’s USB port, it’ll keep doing the sit-up exercise. But, too bad is it’s neither a WiFi dongle nor a USB flash drive. Perhaps, the manufacturer shall think of including any of these functions or both in the next version. It’s simply a good reminder for those really need a tummy tone-up workout!

Are you an executive styled person who needs everything whenever you want it. Such as a mini vacuum cleaner, a usb lamp and even a cup warmer for your hot cocoa. Then this USB product is for you.

Now, ThinkGeek has joined all these functions into one body - a Mini USB Desktop Multi-tasking Device that can replace all you have on your work desk. Consider this and throw away all other detached pieces. The point is this has only one USB cable running to your computer’s USB port, so it looks much neater and you’ll get almost all you need!

The Mini USB Desktop Multi-tasking Device from ThinkGeek includes 4 functions for you, including a blue backlit cup thing for holding pens, a flexible mini lamp, a mini vacuum cleaner, a cup warmer, and one additional USB 1.1 port. The big question remains here is whether how the 500mA provided by the single USB connection from your computer can power up all these gadgets. The whole thing is about 8? diameter and costs only $15.

To tell you the truth,I am certainly sure most adults out there have at least 3 credit cards to their name..Especially as a parent,we usually find the ‘plastic’ rather convenient during the grocery shoppings,at petrol pumps ,shopping…shopping…shopping from baby clothes to our own wardrobe and many more such reasons to indulge ourselves in this plastic tragedy.

With so much credit at risk;it has always been a precaution that I take to ensure that my card is safe with me and steps are practiced to avoid identity theft. Guys, I found out about the availability of ‘Lifelock’ that provides protection from identity theft especially with credit cards and loan applications through banks. Unfortunately this service is available in the States and I hope it will be available one day in Malaysia!

LifeLock is so efficient that it even provides when you apply for a credit card. LifeLock actually locks down the credit so that you will be the only one able to use the credit! And LifeLock also eliminates the mailing of Pre-Approved credit card offers to your residence;-to avoid any fraud possibilities. This means you’re free from all the ‘unwanted junk mails’ one receives regarding credit cards..:).. Lifelock also has a $1 million gurantee on identity theft which is backed by Lyod!

Lifelock is actually having a promotion now…what a waste for Malaysians! Coz its so easy…as for those that are interested to signup;all you have to do is to use the LifeLock.com promo code that is provided at the website .This LifeLock promotions will entitle you to get a 30 days free trial.Besides the free 30 days trial;the LifeLock code will also get you a 17.5% Annual savings! There has been so many LifeLock Review that has been done by multiple sites. And everybody seems enthusiastic regarding this product and the company. I just wanted to give my two cents worth.

There seems to be non-stop USB fun coming to your desk. After a few of the birds, the toilets, the music stations, now you get a little USB White Mike Tyson to throw punches for you on behalf. The desktop USB boxer is to be hooked up to your computer’s USB port. And you can control its fists to throw punches against the little punching sack by using your keyboard’s left and right keys.

The up and down keys on your keyboard will make it to rotate its base, which is a turntable. The USB boxer also keeps and displays on your screen for how many successful punches that you’ve landed through him. Simply fun to have on your office, once your nasty boss has screwed up your day and this is where you can simply throw punches to release your anger.

The price of this little gadget is £29.99 .

So is it worth getting this little piece of gadget to keep you happy by your PC when you burn that night oil. I leave this decision up to you guys . Below is a Video of how this things works.
